Visiting Us

At Roman Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum our schools learning programme focuses on multi-sensory study and meaningful engagement with the past. Getting students closer to history and experiencing what life was really like at the edge of an empire.

To book your visit complete our online booking form. If your dates are available you will receive an email confirmation of your booking. A beautifully carved sandstone relief which depicts a naked male figure holding a spear stood in front of a horse/donkey has been uncovered during the annual excavations at the Roman fort of Vindolanda near Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland. Read more
